As President and CEO of IT Risk Managers, Inc., Larry Harb brings with him all of the experience needed to manage a wholesale operation specializing in niche’ insurance products. Mr. Harb has directed the start up of five different companies and has more thanr 25 years experience in the insurance and financial services industry.
Prior to forming IT Risk Managers, Inc., Mr. Harb was a founding partner in the firm of J.S. Wurzler Underwriting Managers, Inc. (Wurzler). Wurzler was the first company to underwrite Internet insurance for Lloyds of London. At Wurzler, Mr. Harb spent almost two years working with the agent and broker channel, educating them on how to market the WiSP (Website Insurance and Security Program) products.
Before joining Wurzler, Mr. Harb spent a number of years with Aon Corporation, one of the world’s largest insurance brokers. In addition to starting two subsidiaries for Aon, Mr. Harb was appointed Chairman and CEO of Financial Solutions, an Aon holding company. There, he was responsible for six companies that specialized in underwriting Property, Causality, and Professional Liability insurance for financial institutions. These six companies combined had over 100 employees, in nine offices and produced over $70 million in insurance premiums.
Throughout Mr. Harb’s career, he has also owned his own NASD licensed securities broker firm; started the capital markets unit for a major Chicago money center bank; has taught as an adjunct professor and co-authored the book entitled, Reinventing the Retail Bank, published 1993 by Probus Publishing.
Mr. Harb received a Bachelors of Science degree from Northern Illinois University in Management (‘75) and a Masters of Management degree from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management (‘93). He currently sits on the board of two Internet mutual funds, two privately held corporations and a number of local not-for-profit organizations. He and his wife, Pam reside in Okemos, Michigan.
